“I had been suffering from eczema for about three and a half years before going to REVIV. It started in the creases of my arms and within a matter of months it had taken over the majority of my skin. My eczema mostly effects my legs and arms but I’ve also had it across my belly, back, scalp, around my eyes and even in my ears.
“It got so bad that I couldn’t always go into work – I have a desk job in an office. I lived in bandages, my fiancé had to dress me and I barely slept. My skin was raw and I could barely move.
“It got to a point where I couldn’t remember what my skin used to look or feel like.
“In the end, I just didn’t like going out, I was embarrassed about how I looked and how it made me feel and how much I would scratch my skin.
“Getting dressed in the morning was the hardest part of each day. Would these clothes be too itchy? Would I get too warm and flare up? Am I not covered enough and get to cold and have my skin dry up?
“If I’m not covered up enough will be skin touch something and flare up? It was this constant battle just to get dressed. I love clothes and fashion so it was a real low point for me.
“Even having bed sheets touch me was painful and my skin was constantly weeping. Showering and bathing would reduce me to tears as it felt like my skin was burning.
“I hate needles so I was really nervous on my first visit to REVIV. The treatment is a lot better than I expected. It’s actually quite relaxing – even if I still can’t look at the needle.
“After my first treatment I felt awake and energized. Over that first weekend when I had a flare up of eczema it calmed down quicker than it had done before.
“By my second treatment I was seeing large physical differences in my skin. By my third or fourth I was sleeping the whole night through every night – which I’ve not done since my eczema started, so this was a massive improvement for my health and my own day-to-day life.
“I feel like my skin is normal and I’m not limited to where I can go, what I can do or wear.
“I know my eczema will not fully go away but the treatment makes me feel like it has. It’s definitely something that I’m going to carry on doing.”
